TIMESTART & TIMESTART JUNIOR SYSTEM OVERVIEW

The timestart software and hardware is designed and manufactured in Great Britain for small commercial and industrial organisations.

timestart is a simple to use Time Attendance system which connects to your computer via a cable. It has a 150 employee memory capacity, which analyses the weeks clocking in/out data into 4 normal and overtime rates of pay. It has a 10 shift and 10 department capacity. timestart Junior is the same product but limited to 15 employees.

timestart handles daily, band and weekly overtime with additional rules to handle grace time windows for lateness, roundings throughout the day i.e. min by min, quartering etc. and lunch/dinner break auto deductions. Core-times can also be set up to flag employees swiping their badges within working windows throughout the day.

Typical example:- a company works 8:00-17:30, no pay before the start time but the system registers the employee on-site and stores their original IN time. Staff can be up to 3 minutes late (grace setting) and on the 4th minute a deduction of 15 minutes and every 15 minutes thereafter until they clock IN (roundings). Automatic deduction of ½ hour for lunch, some staff swipe and some do not. Deduction of time if they exceed their allowed lunch break. If employees leave earlier than 17:30 then a deduction of 15 minutes etc. Friday’s finish at 16:30. Saturday is time and half and Sunday is Double time. Overtime rules = employees must work their 37½ hour week before they are allowed any overtime.

timestart can be programmed to allow staff to clock in/out onto multiple shifts by assigning the nearest shift to the IN swipe time i.e. morning, afternoon, night shift etc.

The swipe terminal is complete with a memory backup in case of power failures and re-sets back to the normal time when powered up (full power reserve is optional). It will also adjust the summer and winter time changes automatically if you enter the dates in the software. 240v bells/sirens can be purchased and wired in to the clock to sound for start/breaks/finish times throughout the day/week at different intervals.

A swipe enquiry feature is available at the terminal to enable employees to view their hours worked at the 4 rates and verify that their individual swipe times are stored, for piece of mind.

The data is stored for the previous week and then cleared down midway through the current week. Within this period you may alter the actual swipe times for the individual employees for the previous and current week and run a selection of management reports.

When a report is run, the system creates a text file behind the scenes of the last 100 files, these can also be viewed within the software as an archive. Some customers will save the .txt files as a different file name to keep an archive history for each weeks clockings or import it into a spreadsheet, word processor etc. for other use.

Reports available are as follows: -

Weekly clock card time sheet – shows actual swipe IN/OUT times with daily and weekly totals at the 4 various rates of overtime. It also shows any manual adjustments made by a supervisor and any work time infringements for late arrivals and early departures.
Infringements - late arrivals and early departures.
Manual Adjustments – any adjustments to employee’s clockings made by a supervisor.
Roll Call – listing employees IN/OUT of the building (health & safety, fire roll call).
Auto Clockings – any automatic clocking out times that the system entered for forgetful employees (if switched on).
Reports can be saved as text files for extra archive on the computer.

This product is cheaper than some traditional “Clock Card In/Out systems” but obviously has a huge advantage of automatic calculations and reports. The main benefits are speed, elimination of human error, tedious wasted time writing out clock cards each week and totalling the hours worked automatically.

Easy installation, 4 screws onto a suitable wall and plug into a cat5 point or wire back to a PC and plug into the serial port.
